Lake Langano, about 200 km south of Addis Ababa, is a popular destination for tourists. As the only bilharzias-free lake in Ethiopia, many tourists enjoy water sports, swimming, and boating in its reddish waters. Wildlife in the area is also abundant including hippos, monkeys, baboons, warthogs, and a large variety of birds.
